before stories of the lost embrace
and the light of noon-day shines as hope to break the steps
on the floor of black and white with pieces of marble destined to an orderly fight
as you listen to the battle cries in peppered rooms on peppered floors
beyond a notion for a motion to reform the chain and break unruly reign
of seasoned players knighted in the castle halls and coming to a close
before the strongest of the heroes falls before the
